Our Story
Every great love story has its own beginning… From the first time we met to the countless adventures we’ve shared since, our journey has been filled with laughter, love, and a few happy surprises along the way. We’re so excited to start this next chapter together and can’t wait to celebrate it with all of you who have been part of our story so far.
2020 – Kyle & Sammy Meet
It was the beginning of the Spring Semester of Freshman year when I got a follow request from Kyle on Instagram. My friend from high school, Frankie, told Kyle to follow me on Instagram and shoot his shot.
I did not think much of it, so I ghosted Kyle for over a week. I was not interested in Kyle, or so I thought. A couple of days later I had to visit Frankie at Point Park…what a coincidence?
That Thursday night when I saw Frankie walking towards me; there was someone else with her. I saw Kyle dressed in khakis and a button down shirt. Immediately, I started to laugh in my head (and under my breath) because I knew what happened. Frankie told Kyle that I was overly critical of how people presented themselves so she made him dress up.
Yes it was funny that he dressed up for me, but I also found it charming. Even though he looked like he was headed to a Christening, he did it to impress me. That night we were amongst a lot of mutual friends and didn’t get to talk to each other one on one.
But as we were walking home on the city streets of Pittsburgh, I had to split off to head toward my dorm at Duquesne University. I said my goodbyes and started down my path, while he went his own way. We were walking in different directions, but both turned back at the same moment — and when our eyes met one last time, we both knew something special had begun.
I was not a believer in love at first sight, but I looked into his eyes and knew exactly what he was thinking. I walked back the rest of the way to my dorm room with the biggest smile on my face. Had I just met the love of my life? Love often finds you when you’re not looking for it. That first weekend with Kyle turned into every weekend after.
